Greek PM survives confidence vote

Greek prime minister George Papandreou has survived a confidence vote in parliament after calling for the formation of a unity government. Mr Papandreou won the 151 votes required to keep the prime ministership this morning, even after signalling he may stand down. Earlier he called for a new coalition government to approve a bailout deal vital for saving the country from bankruptcy and tackling the eurozone's economic crisis. Mr Papandreou told parliament in Athens that he would go to the Greek president tomorrow to discuss formation of a broader-based government that would secure the 130 billion euro bailout, ...
