In December 2023, household consumption expenditure on goods increased again over a month (+0.3% in volume* after +0.6% in November 2023 – revised data). In particular, spending on energy (+1.7%) and purchases of manufactured goods (+0.6%) were up. By contrast, food consumption declined (-0.7%).
