The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for the United Kingdom declined by 0.4 percent in September 2023 to 74.0 (2016=100), following a 0.7 percent decrease in August. The LEI for the UK contracted by 4.0 percent in the six-month period ending in September 2023, the same rate of decline as over the previous six-month period between September 2022 and March 2023. The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for the United Kingdom ticked up by 0.1 percent in September 2023 to 104.5 (2016=100), after remaining unchanged in August.
