Euro area international trade in goods surplus €6.5 bn

The first estimate for euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world in July 2023 was €227.8 billion, a decrease of 2.7% compared with July 2022 (€234.1 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €221.3 bn, a fall of 18.2% compared with July 2022 (€270.4 bn). As a result, the euro area recorded a €6.5 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in July 2023, compared with a deficit of €36.3 bn in July 2022.
