The annual change in the flash estimate of the CPI stands at 2.6% in August

The estimated annual inflation of the CPI in August 2023 is 2.6%, according to the flash indicator prepared by the NSI. This indicator provides a preview of the CPI which, if confirmed, would mean an increase of three tenths in its annual rate, since in July this variation was 2.3%. This evolution is mainly due to the rise in fuel prices and, to a lesser extent, liquid fuel prices, compared to the decreases recorded in August 2022.
