In the 2nd quarter of 2023, France's FOB/FOB trade balance improved by €5.2 billion and reached -24.6 billion. Despite this increase – the third in a row since the 4th quarter of 2022 and one of the largest since at least the year 2000 – the trade balance remains worse than over the 2000-2020 period. The increase in the balance is essentially due to that of the balance of transport equipment and energy. The agricultural balance is down slightly but remains positive.
