The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at +6.4% in June 2023. In May 2023, the inflation rate was +6.1%. “The rate of inflation therefore increased slightly again after slowing for three months in a row,” says Ruth Brand, President of the Federal Statistical Office. She adds: “Food remained the biggest driver of inflation.
