US: Durable Goods Orders rise by 1% in October vs. 0.4% expected

Durable Goods Orders in the US rose by 1%, or by $2.8 billion, on a monthly basis in October to $277.4 billion, the monthly data published by the US Census Bureau revealed on Tuesday. This reading followed September's 0.3% expansion and came in better than the market expectation for an increase of 0.4%. "Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.5%," the publication further read. "Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.8%.
