U.S.-based employers announced 15,245 cuts in February, a 20% drop from the 19,064 cuts announced in January. Meanwhile, employers in the U.S. announced plans to hire 215,127 workers, the highest February total on record, according to a report released Thursday from global outplacement and business and executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. February’s total is 56% lower than the 34,531 cuts announced in the same month last year.
