In September 2021, the DG ECFIN flash estimate1 of the consumer confidence indicator2 picked up in both the EU (1.1 points up) and the euro area (1.3 points up) compared to August 2021, partly offsetting the losses registered in July and August. At −5.2 points (EU) and −4.0 points (euro area), the indicator is above its pre-pandemic level in both regions. (full story)
