The UK total trade surplus, excluding non-monetary gold and other precious metals, decreased by £6.5 billion to £0.8 billion in the three months to October 2020, as imports grew by £14.3 billion and exports grew by a lesser £7.8 billion. The decrease in the total trade surplus was driven by an increase in the trade in goods deficit; the underlying trade in goods deficit widened by £6.6 billion to £29.1 billion in the three months to October 2020.
