Australian mining jobs stand at two-year low at end-May

Employment in Australia's resources sector during March-May fell to its lowest since December 2017-February 2018 as Covid-19 impacted some part of the sector. Some 233,300 people were employed in Australia's resources sector at the end of May, down from 246,300 a year earlier, and below the 240,900 workers at the end of February, according to labour data for February-March by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
