According to preliminary estimates, in May 2020 the rate of change of the Italian consumer price index for the whole nation (NIC) was -0.1% both on monthly basis and with respect to May 2019 (inflation was zero in the previous month). The decrease on annual basis of All items index was mainly due to the widening of the decrease of prices of Non-regulated energy products (from -7.6% to -12.2%).
