Disliked{quote} Hello Kelvinyun Thanks for adding that. The question then of course is: when should you stop having an expectation of NSL/NSH? What are the signs that the market will start ranging? For me it is not clear we are ranging until price bounced twice in the bottom of the range and twice in the top of the range (see picture). And that is a little late. But it's always possible to have some kind of complex correction after an expectation failure (in this case a NSH was formed after a NSL). So maybe I could have expected the range or some other...Ignored
When the market starts ranging I start being more aggressive with SL as well as focus on the order flow that isn't ranging. So if intraday is ranging like UJ has been I notice what long term is doing so to be prepared for any incoming large movements and mainly focus on the immediate order flow. Also when immediate order flow begins ranging I usually look to long term and only trade in direction of long term. To know when the market is ranging is usually when you get 2 to 3 legs almost equal in momentum like an N or something. That's usually how I start to figure out a market is going to range. If you use larger timeframes in your analysis as well, you can see areas of strong structure on those which can give you ideas of potential ares of ranging. I hope this helps some.
