In my case I tend to think that when u are using an MA that you are looking at the position of the price in relation to the MA. That does not necessarily define a trend, it's just one point over/below a curved line.
So again it's just perception not really definition.
In fact according to one of my buddies there really is NO TREND. That can is easily proven when you look at a tick chart.
