DislikedGU +10 (avg +3.4) 1min Strong momentum to the upside. Broke RDL. Above dragon. I was a little late to the party and the momentum candle retraced quite a bit. I was confident we were going to push higher based on the momentum so I added to my position. {image}Ignored
QuoteDislikedThe premise behind the analysis is that those entities that move prices have established habits. When the price moving entities are bulls they like to move prices below key S&R to do their buying. When they are bears they like to move prices above key S&R to do their selling. So, we can determine if the price moving entities are bulls or bears by finding out where (above or below key S&R) they are doing most of their trading. Once we determine the bull/bear status of the price moving entities, we can analyze futher to see if they are in a "position building" mode, or if they are in a "run for profits" mode. It is the "run for profits" mode that we want to trade.

Disliked{quote} Great explanation cigarguy! I still have much to learn, but you make it much easier by drilling these key concepts in my head. I'm forever grateful. I did have a couple losers last night in the Asian session that I forgot to post. When I reviewed them this morning I realized I wasn't following momentum. I jumped the gun and didn't wait for price to tell me what it was doing. I'm making great progress in all aspects of my trading. Before, if I had losers, It would cause me to be fearful and not trade for a few days. Now that I'm gaining...Ignored
Disliked{quote} lKeithStone, I don't have a direct answer to your above question as I usually consult a few tools prior to entry. I will consult my larger CSM (not the small one on our charts) to pick a pair that is strong vs weak and then check H1 for trend and drop down through M15, M5 and ultimately M1 for a good entry on my chosen pair. What makes it even more difficult to give a direct answer, is my personal experience with the rhythm of a pair as to PA's location relative to S & R's , Session and time of day and importantly, much consideration given...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Cigarguy, I understand what you are saying. It was a rather difficult question to answer, and I figured there would be several factors that lead you to taking a trade on a non-momentum candle. I think you are a great teacher. Much better than you realize. Thanks for sharing. I will give it a read over the weekend.Ignored

Disliked{quote} I might be wrong but trading has to be kind of driving: spontaneously, observing everything and respond accordingly. For that reason trader must understand trading itself before apply any tools(indicator) on it...otherwise with scalping troubles come faster.Ignored
