what happened with cheap imports since? dont you china fans think the same will happen with asian exporters even cheaper, that are imported into china? the difference is those cheaper exporters are on a level energy cost as china. so the paper tiger is back to basket weaving or will have to raise tariffs on its neighbors.good luck betting on that economy w/o the government subsidies. the element of cheap labor is less a factor with cheap u.s. energy comparative.
