Disliked{quote} Perhaps you are right. But I did describe my price action considerations in the original post. I think there can be a lot of arrogance from members of FF, especially when corresponding with those less experienced, however I believe you that that was not the way you meant to come across. Maybe I am over sensitive but I did not really understand what you were talking about when you described your indicators - although I completely understand that you may not want the share them.Ignored
Disliked...Disliked{quote} So from not understanding, and not being inclined to do your own search based on information provided, you concluded that I might be a tad arrogant..... Maybe I will never understand you, but I had decided to help diffuse the situation by accepting your explanation and I will not make comments like this again where you are concerned. I do like the look of the composite index and I may look in to it, however I think I will struggle where code substituting is concerned and that was what I meant about not understanding.IgnoredIgnored
Disliked{quote}{quote} wiz, Apologies for my part in this mishap, and feel free to criticize me in the future - I may learn something. So negative feedback is welcome too. And do let me know if you don't understand something - I want to be understood, and I want to be of assistance. I've made the suggested code substitution (attached). Let me know if it doesn't work, and if it's an improvement on the CI. Finally, I've spent all of my professional life in environments where bold confidence was the name of the game. So if I express myself in such a way, then...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Medici, Thank you, that was very kind of you. For some reason though neither the CII from the other thread or the indicator that you posted here work on any of my MT4 platforms.Ignored
Disliked{quote} So I got a CII to work. It was an updated one posted by Islander on the thread linked by Medici. It is very similar to the TDI used by followers of the TMS system. {file}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hello wiz, Sorry to hear that it was taken like that. I didn't know your entry, so I was certainly not pointing out that mine was better. And in sense, later is better, if that's what yours were. And my intended 'value-add' was 1. to point out that over-sold is not a buy signal in itself (and I was unaware of your other indicators and considerations), 2. to suggest possible indicators that might serve you better, having less lag and providing more reliable divergence signals. If it comes across as arrogant that I told you that I use things...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Well done It is also different from TDI, in that it pinpoints divergences better. CI is also parameter free (change the period and check for yourself, if you like) which means that it's more stable. And if you have the mq4 code for the updated CII I'd be happy to make the MFI substitution for you.Ignored
DislikedHi Cat , Great thread! I'm subscribed. You mentioned that you trade 30sec charts. To be honest I'm intrigued.multiple TFs and still as valid........ Hi Piquant, Thanks for your post. i'm reading it fairly late in the evening as I've been away from my desk. I'll get back to you tomorrow if that's okay.Ignored
DislikedHere's a simple trade at 09.12 on the Dax this morning using the 200ema on the 10 second, to show how trades can be captured against the higher time frame momentum. There's a perfect trend line I was able to draw and all I had to do then was pick my moment using candle formation. These candles, marked with the yellow arrows, are what other traders looking to go long would also have been looking out for as the price moved sideways between the trend line and the MA200, and in a set up like this, with the 20 sec and 1m charts also showing bullish momentum,...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Good stuff I like your precision approach. To me the setup was at 9.07 - MACD divergence - 2B under 9704, and outside BB. Note the strong bounce previously from 9704 - Touch of EMA200 Then stop entry at 9705 with stop at 9697. To me that means - less risk - higher probability - more profit So another way to sharpen the precision. {image}Ignored
DislikedThen the same game being played at 9.42 for the ride up to yesterday's close. Note that MACD didn't show divergence here, but CI did. {image}Ignored
