Replace FF?
Dear Gals and Guys,
I received this PM, which is the third of its kind. Due to my own limitations in moving in the direction indicated, I decided to post the PM here so anyone that wishes to move in such a direction......and invite me in when set up......can do so. Here is the PM.......
Dear TAH,
I've been reading the Sonic thread for a few months now (but only just now subscribed for the petition to reinstate you) and I'd just like to register my admiration for all the very hard work you've put in and the help and advice that you've given so generously.
You said that with FF one has to walk on eggshells because of their vested interests and regretfully, I have to agree with you. It also appears to me that their moderator system is incompetent, to say the least. I have been amazed both at the language and attitudes that seem to be permitted and the level of censorship of the expression of justified opinions, even when worded in relatively inoffensive terms.
In the light of this context, I fail to understand why there isn't already an independent Sonic Forum - as I'm sure you know, these are now free to set up and host and I have a feeling that the moderation issue is solved in advance :-) The forum could address the same subjects as in FF or anything the founders so choose. Its not my place as a newbie to initiate anything but I'm certain that if you or any one of the "majors" was to do so then it would be viable very quickly. Amongst many others, you'd have my immediate support.
In the meantime, thankyou very very much for everything,
ATB,
In further response to PMs on this topic let me say that FF has ideal charting and communications features. They are easy to use and high quality. And the "surrounding" advertisements are nothing so objectionable as found on Facebook and other alternatives,.....which, frankly, I find totally inappropriate to the intense kind of posting we do. Is there an alternative to FF that is as good in the areas we need it? Just keep in mind that while the FF community of traders needs to hunt to find us "next door", it would be even more difficult for them if we moved to a different neighborhood. Wouldn't it?
