DislikedDear all ! I tried the V5 this week - no good news ... and that is on a demo. I got mostly loosers. It seems this strategy is highly discretionary. Maybe sitting and watching only some pairs, closing the trades at the right time could make you a winner ? But automatic trading didn't work for me. It seems especially in the asian session there isn't enough momentum for succesful BO's over resp. under the extrema of the previous days ? The bot worked a bit better in LO/NY sessions ... but in summary it produced more loosers too. And I think, even...Ignored
DislikedI must be candid: I'm a bloody nanual trader. And scalping is much more harder manual trading then all other manual strategies. I'm testing a lot of other EA's - so I'm atm not very active here ... watching perhaps new ideas. Maybe someone else has an idea for a better setfile then mine ? {file} {file}Ignored
Disliked{quote} There is no doubt that MathTrader7 is the one to talk with about EA's and different scalping strategies... With this method could you perhaps select the pairs that look good on the trading day and simply drop them into the EA? I find it easy to scan all pairs with reasonable spreads and then to drop in an order if they look good?Ignored
Disliked{quote} Observing the results of backtesting with V4 (and what I've seen in forward test so far), I'm convinced that one would expect to obtain breakeven following the rules mechanically (as EA does). However, the strategy might be profitable with some additional rules. One thing in my mind is to look at 5-minute bars and enter a trade if the M5 bar breakouts the level, or completely closes on the other side of the level. @griffinssoul: What do you think about this idea?Ignored
DislikedOk ... so any V6 will be posted here ? I'm ready for a new test !Ignored
DislikedHere is a new version of the EA that runs on M1 charts. This EA has been specifically written for backtesting. Use "Open prices only" model (not every ticks) for backtesting. Here is the best performance I could come up with optimization: {file} {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} I totally agree with your findings re "...expect to obtain breakeven". I also agree that what is needed is a PA based additional rule - for example I use a simple retrace rule which seems to work well (see post 471) but I also like your 5M candle idea... Note: I also use all the time filters: No trade - W1 & Mon in addition to the LOIgnored
Disliked{quote} I tested the EA with my both idea: M5 bar must breaks out the level, and M5 bar must close completely on the other side of the level. Unfortunately, they do not help much... But I think the idea of retracement, as you mentioned in post 471, would give us better entry points. If I can implement the retracement idea into the EA (which is kind of subjective to the human being judgement), I will submit the new version here...Ignored
