However, in the same country you can also buy a free-hold land. Maybe that was a British rule for their colonies, because my lease was issued by British Govt. before independence. However, during my visits to a couple of former USSR countries, I learned that people actually owned businesses but only formal title rested with the Soviet Govt. I don't have anything relating to that land...Ignored
