QuoteDislikedWhat is that?
DislikedRegarding the influx indicator... Sorry, I'm not going to post indicators or algorithms. But maybe a hint or two: What do the attached charts depict? {image} {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Looks like some buggy wick drawing code to me. JK I think I have tried to do something similar to this but never got passed the pencil and paper step with my ideas. Always felt like I was just making stuff up, trying to extract more information from volume and price movement than is really there. If you find this to be informative could you offer some better hints. You said this was mentioned else where?? Is that chart using tick data or just M1. If it is tick could you approximate it with M1. Is the bottom chart made with the same indicator...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I can assure you that there are no bugs there It uses M1, and yes, the bottom chart is (almost) the same indicator. If you overlay the original M1 candles on the upper chart, you should be able to get the idea. However, even after getting the idea (and experimenting with lots of other stuff), I still feel the same as you (i.e. I'd also appreciate some more hints). Guess we're "not ready yet" BTW, it was specifically mentioned here, here...Ignored
DislikedChart #1: There is one candlestick per minute. But each candlestick does not plot minute data, it plots the OHLC for the past hour. So, in a way, it is a rolling H1 chart. Now, picture what it would look like on a tick chart - plotting a new H1 candlestick for each tick. Chart #2: As you can tell, the open price is the same for all candlesticks. In this case, the open price (reference price) is the open of the London session (03:00 et). Each candlestick plots the OHLC since the start of the London session. So, in a way, it is a cumulative London...Ignored
DislikedAll I can tell so far is pi possibly being used as a normalizer (constant) for the indicator and every fixed line value at the right is a rounded multiple of pi (3.14159) or 22/7 (3.142857). I thought maybe the slope of price was being measured, but I'm not so sure. Correct me if I'm wrong but the two solid plot lines appear to be moving averages of the two dashed plot lines? So, AFAICT, only two values are being plotted/calculated. One question I have is whether these two values are based off the tick chart or other time frames as has been suggested...Ignored
DislikedInteresting all this interest in CPs posts. It is so hard to pass up a good puzzle. All that mystery and intrigue.Ignored
QuoteDislikedIt looks like that is a tick chart in CPs posts. It is certainly a sub minute chart.
QuoteDislikedThe stuff with price is just a moving average. So as you say there are just 2 mysterious indicators there. I am thinking they are probably just based on the data in the chart. And not very much of it, based on what CP says and on how reactive they are. They seem like a mix between a break out and a momentum oscillator.

Disliked{quote} You do need to look past all the fluff, hyperbole, anecdotes, and analogies. {quote} Yes. Tick charts are best for this type of analysis. Although those using MT4 might find 1-second charts to be easier to create and use. {quote} Yes, the reactiveness of the indicator gives a very big hint as to how it is derived.Ignored
Disliked{quote} I think most people have misread the pi analogy. You need to truly understand how moving averages work...investigate how different moving averages react to price. Combine that knowledge with the various concepts CrucialPoint has discussed and it will all begin to make sense.Ignored
