Hi Helee,
First you must know that I use broker server time GMT+0. This is my local time 8am exactly when Tokyo open.
I follow 4-hour rountine and check my charts every 4-hour. Now with Daylight saving DST on, London open is 4pm my local time, very nice as it is also the new H4 candle on my charts.
I trade Candlestick patterns (which I will share in future posts) for setups.
For H4 entry, I look for bullish H4 candle and trade entry on price pullback, usually to 38% and 50% of the last H4 candle.
Knowing the candle counting is important as I want to see the H1 and H4 candles. M15 candles will show you the price momentum.
See attached example using GU today. You know that GU yesterday close Bullish so we look for continuation setup.
Hope this will explain why I do candle count.
