DislikedMate your numbers are v good and looking better every month. However, may i ask, don't you think that they look a bit disproportionate for what you need to make lots of $$$ in this business? I seldom say this in a forum but don't you think you should consider increasing a bit size, if you double or triple size and cut the returns by 8th you can be in the major leagues quite fast.
Please don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic return profile. However, it strick me those high return %?....they ould be better channelled to get a better bang for the...Ignored
DislikedHi Sisse,
I had thought margin on a gold futures contract was about $8,000? In the spot market with the right broker 100 oz on margin requires $400.Ignored
DislikedThat's a VERY valid point, too! Was recently discussing that with PTL. He comes from the pits and his favourite thing about the smaller brokers/crooks/businesses is exactly what you describe!
I'm not ever looking to be some "top dawg" high-roller through any of this, anyway. I love to enjoy life. Make what I need...for today, tomorrow, and well into the future...but beyond that? Too many other things I enjoy doing with people I enjoy even more!
Happy enough "scraping by" as I am. Will gladly ditch MT4 in a second, though!Ignored
DislikedWhen I was trading stocks... I could have held Apple for $25 a share. On the inside $$ req is very different. However you don't need anything special for the gold deal... however even if the margin was zero... need the right risk $ for it.Ignored

Jaysus...I'm like an open book!
This is it. I'm just not in the position at the moment. I'm fine for now as is...life is good.
I have a long term trading account that has a very healthy (afaic) balance, but I'm not touching that. Many active positions...some which I really fancy...but more importantly...its basically my retirement fund. I have years worth of "normo" (self-employeed contributed) pensions, but my long term account is kicking all of their asses!
Just told myself I would never touch it...and I'm sticking...Ignored
Disliked....To get that capital together, I had to drain a LARGE chunk of my trading capital.....Ignored

Good golly...no wonder it has wound up in the basement of my four pairs.Ignored
DislikedI see very clear. Also that gold trade dstorted the picture but i see now the heathy mean without it...well as long as the spike is to right side of course....
In any case, keep out the good work and excellent job ....
Will be a less than half of that (+/- 3700) for the kind of intraday moves Ken is doing. Sure on the expensive side margin wise but was just a reference for increasing size more than a recommendation to trade gold futures....

Do you have any idea what the thought of holding $25 APPL shares just did to my heart?
This may be the first time I've said this to you, but...always a first...
You bastard!Ignored
DislikedThat's why I figured I'd get the first one over with while its nice and quiet!
Up until about a year...maybe year and a half ago...I would not be found anywhere other than manual scalping. 30 second chart for triggers...M2 for exits, M10 for Long Term direction.
No lie. Did that for AGES. 30S, M2, M10...large leverage. I get kinks in my neck now when I do it! Still LOVE it. Absolutely convinced there is a fortune in there, but automation is the key down there.
Listen to me? Preaching to the choir!Ignored
DislikedNo shit? didn't know that.
I am fond of speed....as you know I think it eliminates a lot of risks and allows trading no matter how tight things get. It also introduces instant death if you do not know what you are doing.Ignored
DislikedTests I am running now are on 1 pip bars. When the next trade closes moving it up to 1/2 pip and then finally 1/10 pip. Might run a 1 tick test as well.. depending on the 1/10th test. With 3 order components per bar..I expect it will head into overload.Ignored
