DislikedStupid? In my opinion it is quite seldom to observe a successful intervention. But the last intervention by the SNB was a striking success! So they are rather outstanding then stupid.Ignored
Dislikednot really, they missed many opportunities to raise the peg and caused the markets to loose their momentum. that was a big big mistake in mho. i mean a country that exports banking, you would hope they'd be more hawkish on their own currency. it's not like they have a terribly huge exchange to deal with. usd, eur, jpy are the most traded and thus the hardest to manipulate. chf on the other hand shouldn't be this hard. How could they let it slip 400 points?Ignored

DislikedI agree. It seemed to me that intervention is succesfull when market sentiment is on correlation with the dirtection of the interwention. As u mentioned since couple of hours, even days we have less avertion to risk but CHF still remians strong. Somewhat interesting to me....Ignored
DislikedSNB forgot how to press the button, they might need a few months to pass more government regulation so that they can approve going back to school to learn how to sell CHF.Ignored
