DislikedThanks for coming here giving your opinion.
I can tell you that the only change off rules is the way we put in the PO
when a signal candle show up.
This is done because gleneagleas backtested around 16 month back on EU.
So by changing 1 rule with this system would give 9,4% more gain.
please see post 1698.
and that is it. I changed 1 rule all ohter rules are the same.
But we also saw threw this week that some off the indys we was using gave some problems.
Trendcandles could sometimes repaint 1 bar back. Solved.
Many people was talking...Ignored
It's almost 2 years now I started trading, and still I'm looking to be profitable. Here in FF there are thousands of threads about trading systems, and I see all of them starting in a way and ending somewere else...
I think is human nature leading us finding always something better. The fear of loss hurts ourselves more than the loss itself. We dream about the Holy Grail, which can lead us toward a secure success, with no loss at all.....
This way we spend the most of our time: Changing systems, twisting and tweaking them, looking for a better one ...and time passes by with no success at all...!
How many of us are sticking with a system for a long time? It's said: Market changes... so we must adapt our way of trading. Really we think so? Market never changes: it goes UP, Down or Sideway, noting less, nothing more.. The truth is: nobody here is so brave to stick to a system for more than few days or weeks. The first losses will kill our enthusiasm about the new system.... and time passes by....
I have to say (until now) Peter's system is one of the simplest (for rules & indies) I saw. It's one of the most mechanical and no second guessing ever seen. When A...you do B! That's all....
Peter made (and he's still making) an enormous effort to code a profitable system: he made it clear, simple, mechanical & with set in stone rules. He thorougly backtested it. Once in FF some great fellows helped him in finetunig (Deankenny) & backtesting more far away (Gleanegle).
Fine tuning was made because the system is new and Peter couldn't think to each evenience we could face in live trading (i.e. freezing platforms with old versions of Mt4, hard to see macd in some monitors and so on..)
Backtesting should help us to strenghten our confindence in the system.
Is this system profitable? Will it be in the long run? Only time can tell....
BUT.... will we be so brave to follow the system in the long run? Will we stick to the rules without second guessing? Won't we try to tweak the system or take that trade and not the other one because there's a pivot or a round number or a channel or a fibo or......or.....or....?
Remember: Resistance can hold....but can be broken... the same is for Support...who can say it before..?
Human nature will kill us that way! We're always with that monkey on our shoulder: fear of not success! After few positive trades (the more the worst) we're all waiting for the incoming streak of loss that will wipe out all the gain made before.....
Maybe trading is simpler than we believe. We need just a little edge: winning more than losing....
Peter's system has (roughly) 1:1 R:R, so we need a little more than 50% of positive trades to be profitable. A coin toss is 50%.... so it's impossible this system would perform worse than it!
But we are scared.... the catch is always around the corner, waiting to make us losing all our hard earned money....
That's driving me crazy!
Fear to lose..... or should I say: FEAR TO WIN? That masochistic attitude called NIKEFOBIA?
Maybe we're all losers (and the more we spend our time tweaking a system or suggesting that indi or that other, the more we will be....)
A winner doesn't waste his precious time day & night here in FF. A winner makes money...and lives his life very far away from FF.....
I Apologize for this long and bitter post, but I had to unburden myself, mostly with myself......
I wish to thanks Peter (and other people helping him) again: He couldn't do more than he did for us.....
If we will lose...it will be beacause we're losers.....
Btw..... I'm still looking for my Holy Grail....
