I can't remember who it was, but someone asked me a little while back how I liked Julius' system and how I think it could be used or my explanation or understanding of it.
I think the simplest exercise to prove on a small scale what Julius was trying to say on a large scale is to put on a simple EURUSD hedge. You can do this with FXDD, who allows hedging.
Before I go any further, I DO NOT endorse hedging AT ALL.
Having said that, if you put on the simple .1 lot EURUSD Buy, and .1 lot EURUSD sell, can you not clearly see when the buy is at top (so buys gaining), or sell at top (so sells gaining)? You can. Try it out.
Now, I said I don't endorse hedging, an neither does Julius. His hedge is an "indicator" to track which pairs are gaining or losing. If you have less pairs, it's easier to see this than keep track of pairs.
I myself am looking at making an indicator of 3 currencies to trade one basket like this. Sells will rise to top when selling is good idea. Buys will rise to top when buying is good idea. Julius started trading pairs, and as he said, it's not until Tuesday or Monday evening before 14 pair basket chooses direction. So until the big move came, he would trade single pairs. This still is true. How many have gotten their profits eaten before the big move even began? I know I have more than I care to share. Yet he did talk about this. MANY baskets to choose from, doesn't have to be 14 pairs.
Just my 2 cents.
Kind regards,
Don
