Hi all,
I've just finished reviewing the last few months of trading in this thread. I'm glad that I made it back to my roots, ... this thread .
I have come to the conclusion yet again that I really like the 4hmacd strategy, this thread itself, and the participation of all of you, exchange of analysis, discussion and posts of trades. It creates a space of elaboration that we all contribute and profit by.
I'm not talking financial profit only, since trading is an intellectual and psychological challenge that apart from potentially growing our account, it surely offers us the opportunity to mentally grow as well.
Trading includes more than just placing trades. Once we place our trades, the problems start. How long do I stick with a loser, how long do I keep a winner? How should I manage my open trade?
Our view of the market and the entries are similar, our trademanagement differs.
Here is where intuition enters the field, as to adapt to the market and manage the open trade in sync with its rhythm and momentum.
Changing trademanagement with every trade is obviously trying to over interpret, this can be dangerous as it may destabilize the traders mind, so that after five trades and five different ways to manage he/she may have lost orientation on what to do next. Sticking to a trademanagement forever may be a way to keep the mind calm, but it will not always be in sync with the market and many sl-be’s may occur, where another trademanagement would have allowed for profits.
So here’s the challenge: finding ways of managing a trade adapting to the market’s attributes. I have started using atr21*2 as r definition, for example.
I believe, the more we include the trademanagement we’re planning to apply to any posted trade, the more will we fine tune our senses over time, on how to adapt to the market with our trade.
Keep up the good work.
