DislikedNo, not biased. My work causes me travel to most towns (and one city ) in W.A.. The story is all the same. Mining will take off again, but this time the scene has changed, as per my previous post. I have my doubts that it will boom like it recently did. There are still massive amounts of people who were laid off during the GFC that are still unemployed (mostly contractors).
Housing in mining towns should take off, only because things have slowed down in the city so builders are going to the regional jobs that were placed on the backburner several...Ignored
DislikedI don't know if that last part makes much sense. Housing will take off in ming towns? Just because the city is over-priced doesn't mean mining towns are going to boom. From what I understand mining town real estate only booms when the mine is doing well, then it crashes. So based on your previous comments I would think mining towns would be shit right now. And aside from the economics of mining no one in the city just ups and goes to the boondocks because their homes are too expensive, and there are usually far better places to live if you're sick...Ignored
DislikedI already stated why houses in regional areas will flourish. You didn't get it. And...you obviously don't live in WA. Our town/regional planning is very different from the East.Ignored
DislikedNo, over in Australia. Not a fun place to be with 10% unemployment. California with 10% unemployment is much more fun.Ignored
Dislikedwhat a trend huh? im afraid to buy, but more afraid to sell, not sure what to doIgnored
Disliked$525k per year to weld. Oh yeah, that makes sense. No wonder the government has jacked everything up. Like I said before, inflation on many things went up 50% over a single year. The government there is just trying to suck up every dollar they can for themselves. There are far more people out there that don't make anywhere near this kind of money in Australia. No wonder they're such grumpy wankers!Ignored
DislikedThis is absolutely absurd. I used to think that Australians were tough men but seems like they want to act that way but have work conditions like the Four Seasons Hotel. I'm from Louisiana and like most everyone you spend your summers if not a good part of your life on an oil rig. We would work 12 hour shifts sometimes 24 if the relief crew didn't show up.
$90 dollars a day because you had to share a bathroom? Are you fucking kidding me!! Like any real roughneck would tell you just get the paper and go behind the closest tree. We would sleep...Ignored
