DislikedHi Frazerd,
Just wondering that with 1/10th of 100:1 and we are using 500:1 then Max Margin to be 0.05 instead of 0.01 as suggested by you. What do u think? Also, should I change it in every EA I am testing as all demos and live accounts are 500:1 and of USD 2000.Ignored
DislikedMeta and Frazerd.
With so many versions and variations of EAs, I suggest one of you to summarize the use and parameters of each and recommendation on which to test. We cannot test 10 EAs at a time and compare results. I have been testing Confirm14_03, Basket14_02 (ET2), Add14_01. Do I need to test any otherIgnored

DislikedMy Add_01 demo that I used yesterday to illustrate the need for incorporating a trim/reverse, finally closed 59 trades during the night and is up 4.8% in 5 trading days. It started trading at 0130 GMT on 10 Sep. Not too bad considering I started it with the faulty first cut EA and got caught with those big losers yesterday.
MC, I believe most of us are demoing fairly small accounts which means the add-on trades are much more than 1/10 the lot size of the initial trades. My demo, for example, is about $4500, the normal trades are .05...Ignored
DislikedI'm just wondering if anyone is demoing this strategy on a large account where the add-ons are actually 1/10 the size of initial trades and, if so, how their demos are working. It seems to me if the strategy works well with add-ons being 1/5 the normal size, then it might NOT work very well if they were actually 1/10. Am I making sense? Do we need to change that parameter?Ignored
DislikedBTW, MC, you have my utmost respect regarding your patience in dealing with this puzzle you've decided to solve. I've no doubt it's a confounding and tangled web, but I believe your persistence is going to wear it down. Just be sure to take a break once in a while. Sometimes, the subconscious will do the work for you. The great inventors have said that their "AHA" moments often came during times of rest; even sleep.
Anyway, pip-pip, carry on. Or take a nap. Whatever.Ignored
DislikedJust a wee update on Basket14_03. On a 3K demo acc't, it has trimmed slightly over $600 and is currently down $1000 in floating equity. Basically in 50% DD at the moment. Considering that it's only trying to hit a $30 target, I think I would be slightly alarmed if this was real money.
We'll see how it goes.
Confirm14_03 is making slow progress in the right direction.
Confirm14_03a is in a slightly negative holding pattern.

That's a serious amount of dd. What is your leverage and max margin settings as I would suspect that your lot sizes are incorrect to have such large dd

DislikedLots of ideas on the thread and I can't possibly code them all, but I usually code something so here is...something.
It's a ver 02 of the Add EA. It uses one-tenth the customary lot size across the board
