DislikedBig difference being, between a Tier I Currenex hub and a limited relationship, which Dukascopy is/has, is, that your fill is far better on a multi relationship-multi bank ECN hub.Ignored
Thanks in advance.

Disliked...please explain the difference between Tier I vs. ...Do some retail brokers have Tier I access?Ignored
Dislikedthen I found out they have a broker downtime at 1700 EST for 25mins. No prices are quoted. They say this is for reboot. It put e off because I get gaps on the daily charts, I thought 25min is a long time? So Ive sent the paperwork off to Dukascopy but now not so sure.
Can someone please give me a list of reputable ECNs or stps. Whats the minimum needed to open with JP morgan?
ThanksIgnored
Dislikedi dont feel uncomfortable (no more than any other IA anyway). Just wondered if anything different in going with an IA and why they want account numberIgnored
DislikedAnd today my account has been activated.
As promised, my first impression.
First live trade: zero slippage on eur/usd; spread (on the market) 1-1.5 pips.
By the way I bought a micro lot ($1k), just for testing and the execution time was at the speed of light, just to reassure retail traders with small accounts.
So far Dukascopy is great.
Happy trading to all.Ignored
DislikedNo, it's still the beta test version.
Seems they're having a real problem getting it to work. MT4 doesn't like a pure price platform where the data isn't manipulated.

DislikedHi Scotty, and anybody else worrying about this.
Apologies if you have already been answered on this, it is quite likely that <your IA> wants it as an accounting check to prove to Dukascopy that they have introduced a real client - and hence get paid.Ignored
DislikedThanks primate. I see you are in the UK. Do you know much about Barclays Barx direct fx? Thats my other option besides DukascopyIgnored
DislikedHi Scotty, I just read the whole thread thus far.
Dukascopy is my fourth account and I have been running it for a few months now. So far I am very happy, and their serving of liquidity/order execution is just so much better than anything I have used before. I have been aware of them in the market place for years, and have wound-up with them as I strive to get away from the MMs.
I have learnt some interesting stuff tonight.
Who is seriously griping about half a pip.....? !
Barclays.....FX I know nothing about. I read rumours that they were...Ignored
Dislikedok thanks. Wouldnt Barxdirectfx just use a 'scaled down version' from barclays capital?Ignored
QuoteDislikedTorn between the two at the mo. Opened live account with Barx and sent the paperwork off to Dukas.
QuoteDislikedDo you use an IA at Dukas and how is slippage? Do you post on trade2win?
DislikedI know somebody who is interested in Barx. Would appreciate you posting any impressions here, or in a new thread.

It would be great if Duka had a knowledgeable rep on these forums who could respond to these discussions.Ignored
Disliked...hey John, that's cool - and of course you are 100% right, Dukas can in no way be compared to a Tier I PB, not with the marketing nor with the product.
Perhaps lets take it as is, and make up your own mind:
Dukascopy was a MM back in the early days - later on changed their business model to become a liquidity aggregator - thus implemented with a very flawed liquidity aggregation Algo - pushed their new product with trying to be with the big boys league ('we only take accounts above $50k') - 2008 credit crunch wiped out their (top of the...Ignored
DislikedAre you saying that Dukascopy is not a true ECN?
I hope not - I closed all my other bucketshop accounts and decided to trade exclusively with Dukascopy..Ignored
DislikedLook at your account statement. P/L from trades take 2 days (google for tomorrow/next) to settle. Until then, your realized P/L is in the quote-currency (i.e. JPY for an usd/jpy trade). That affects your equity, but minimal.Ignored
DislikedIs it only on Dukascopy-this thing ? And how much is "minimal" ? For ex. if a trader is a scalper and only aiming for fews pips per trade-what will be the difference then ?Ignored
Disliked1) I just discovered how to ask JForex for a micro-lot, and the trading platform did not object although I did not actually place the trade; 2) Duka are offering MT4 as a trading platform, although it remains in Beta testing.Ignored
