So, what I am thinking is this:
A 'decent sort of a move' is figuring prominently here. Maybe, once both pendings are filled and the successful one reaches +30, then it should be allowed to follow the move a bit further. For sure this will cut the automatic loss of 30 pips when both trades fill when it works, but will expose the account to a bit more loss when it does not.
So, here is what I am thinking:
Any thoughts, anyone? Especially anyone with more experience of market moves following through to ATR-calculated tp's.
DislikedOne more thought. If anyone has a favourite trading basket that they like to watch following the New York opening, sing out. It only takes a bit of copy/pasting to accommodate this.

DislikedThe robot is being successful so far because it is sending hedged pending trades at times when the markets are most likely to move dramatically. Using ATR to calculate the take profit means that a trade that runs through to tp is doing much better than those trade pairs that close at -30 overall.
Now, this is no different from a system that trades thus:
[list][*]send two pending trades as does HTCB.[*]if a filled trade hits stop loss, cut the crap and merely close the opposite direction pending trade. Anyone who has used the latest version of...Ignored

DislikedHere and now, after a couple of late-night drinkies, my imagination boggles at having differential atr settings for different pair groupings.
It probably isn't all that difficult; I am just not going to try to do this for now.
In the meantime, I am as sure as I can be that the robot will ignore an empty PairsToTrade2 input.
This means that you can have separate instances of the robot running on different charts with umpteen pair/trading times, so long as each robot has a different magic number.
So, including two lots of pair inputs in...Ignored

DislikedCheers scoobs.
OK guys, until I get around to editing the robot to allow for 4 trading periods, read mark and inwardly digest the above.
In terms of HTCB, this means we need two instances of the robot running with different magic numbers. One handles the JPY and EUR pairs; the second handles the GBP and USD pairs.
Tomorrow, I will code the robot with defaults for all four start times and their pairs. In the meantime, use two instances of the robot.
