DislikedWhy are you using Oanda? If you can afford 12 grand/month just for data you can surely afford to trade interbank lots. Oanda is a bucket shop that pads interbank prices to make a spread, why not just plug into the interbank yourself to gain better pricing? At least a large ECN?Ignored
DislikedHi Scotty
I can't speak for Domino's motives but bucketshops do have their uses. It's not always a case of afford, it's more a matter of execution, especially across illiquid markets, bucketshops like Oanda fill pretty much anything up to 10mio a ticket regardless of the underlying market and that's worth paying a premium for sometimes. Why do you think shops like Oanda have some high 7-figure clients on their books?
Just speaking from my own perspective, Domino may have different motives of course.Ignored
DislikedI have a hard time believing that Oanda would keep themselves open to that kind of abuse. If they had traders demanding massive amounts of liquidity at the worst times on a consistent basis, I don't think they'd stay around. Oanda is large from a retail standpoint but they're not that big. Their Feb net capital was only $166M.

DislikedIf you're having a hard time believing it then may I suggest you try it out, then you'll be able to form an accurate opinion based on practical experience.
Things have changed slightly since NFA price adjustment rules were introduced but generally the fills are still there.
As for demanding liquidity, the other side of the coin is providing liquidity, it's a 2-way street isn't it?
Anyway, totally off-topic and we'll probably get slapped wrists!Ignored
DislikedMy point is that Oanda isn't stupid, thats all. They won't just sit there and lose money if they can help it.Ignored
