First of all I tried every ECN using MT4 including CIti, MBT along wit other bridges. I'm a normal trader I don't use EA's. I trade on technical indicators and fundamentals. The problem with ECNs :
1- High entry barrier : They require $10,000 as initial deposit (most of them).
2- They only have FOREX instruments and usually non exotic.
3- In the end they are Market Makers even if they are linked with bridges they all pour in a pool of market makers.
4-The execution type is really specious as indicated in the picture they won't requote but eventually if the market moves your order will be executed wherever the market hits, which I find outrageous since requoting is sometimes helpful espcially during news releases .
In conclusion I guess ECN's are good for only those who use EAs, however a number of good market makers accept EAs. So, is there a need for ECNs?
The answer is up to you
