DislikedMy buffer is there to simply protect a few false breakouts of the immediate box. I've see it occur on numerous occasions where the price just pokes through and then retraces.Ignored
DislikedHi Dubai,
Does a buffer really protect against false breakouts?
Or do false breakouts also appear when price pokes through your buffer and then retraces?
I'm not really asking, it's more a thought that came to me when i read youre comment.
I'm not sure if adding a buffer will reduce your false breakouts.
I've been backtesting this strategy manually over 7 years of historical data and will lookup if more false breakouts occur on the original entry price then on an entry price with a buffer added to it.Ignored

DislikedI read several trading books and attended a couple of paid forex trading seminars and they all mention the 7 pips buffer rule at any breakout strategy. I always use it in my trading when it comes to breakouts. You'll be surprised how a 7 pips buffer can save you at times.Ignored

DislikedI use a 10 pip buffer for both long and short. All wins for accounted for spread using a 2 pip spread. Thanks for the % returns. I'd personally risk more on 30/30 than 10/30. The win rate for Nov was 100%. Anyway, good work.Ignored
DislikedHi Dubai,
2 questions please:
1) Is the 2 pip spread added to the 10 pip buffer for entries? In other wrods, is the long entry 12 pips above the top of the box? And is the short entry 10 pips below the box?
2) I believe Indy changed the slope parameters from your settings to 80 and 160 respectively on the 15 Min chart so that only one chart is necessary instead of two. Is that a valid change? Or do the slopes behave differently with your settings on the 1 hour chart?
Thanks again!Ignored
