DislikedCan someone explain to me how to place simple stop loss limits, trailing stops, and stuff like that on this damned thing IB calls a trading platform?
Theirs is hands down, by far, and i mean really by far, the most complicated/uncomprehensive trading platform i've ever seen.Ignored
Dislikedby IB I mean Interactice Brokers of course! I am a happy customer who passed from many scammers before, like O.. FX.. MI.. etc., before I met them, 3 years ago..
The execution is very fast and precise because of the huge liquidity they have. Theis customer service is average but you will not need it!
Anyway you feel that you are in a big, safe house, made for serious traders.
Just one advice and pardon me for the capitals : LEARN THE BOOKTRADER APP.! That's all you need. The link for webinar is here.

DislikedNot really, IB is far away from MB.. Don't compare Rolls with Zastavas...Learn BookTRader inside out. It pays you back..Ignored
DislikedThe only thing that is REALLY annoying is their quoted prices, you will very rarely get filled at the quoted price, usually 0.5 - 1 slippage on GU in normal conditions. This makes their spread look manufactured. There's a slippage control function which if you set to 0 you will not get filled easily! Also i've never yet been slipped for the better which is even more suspect.
ok rant over, anyone else have a view on this?Ignored
DislikedPutting limit orders between the quoted bid/ask. Do they get filled?Ignored
DislikedForget it during fast market when spreads increase, you won't get filled. In an average market with average liquidity, on occasion you get filled, but usually in such markets, the spread is 1 or even 0.5 pips, so entering an order at 0.1 pip precision - although possible - is hard to accomplish, i.e. the pip has moved by the time you're done entering your limit order.
I'd say in general, forget trying to scalp inside the spread. Also don't forget they apply slippage, sometimes even if you set it to 0. And in a slower market you probably will not...Ignored
