DislikedHi All
Trendmagic is dead simple. It just calculates a (by default) 50-bar CCI and looks to see if it is above/below zero. Then it adds or subtracts a (by default) 5-bar ATR. That's all!! But it works really well.
When I tidied up the code and made the CCI/ATR parameters adjustable, I tried different values. DON'T CHANGE THEM! Whoever designed the indy originally got it bang on. The default settings are the best on all TF's!!

DislikedJust going on from my last post, the same comments apply to the BB MACD as well. I wrote an automated tester to call the indy's on different TFs to see if I could optimise the settings.
Paulus has (surprise, surprise!) got them right! Keep the BB MACD set to (144,233) and leave the TrendMagic on Default. If you mess with them you will find that ANY OTHER SETTINGS ARE WORSE!!
Regards Paulus' modification when he added the ForexFreedom bars -- I have abandoned these as if you look at the code, they just compute the CCI as well so you get no new...Ignored

DislikedHi Anne,
You are one smart cookie!
Glad you are on this thread. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Just to show how unsmart I am.... what is this LSRI you mentioned?
Is it an indicator?

DislikedTudorGirl,
Are you using the 1 HR TF? That is what I am using. I am also using the Laguerre for a "warm fuzzy" on entry.

DislikedHi Tony
LRSI is the "Laguerre RSI". Please see posts 23, 25 and 28 on this thread for more info. The indy is attached to post #28 and is called "Laguerre.ex4".
Note that the default setting is 0.7. We want 0.75 - this makes a difference!
The way the Laguerre filter works is quite complicated. It is often called a "time warping" filter as it messes around with the X-axis (time) by manipulating the difference between the group-delay and the phase-delay of the filter. Suffice to say that it filters with almost no lag, which is great for...Ignored

DislikedThanks TudorGirl. Can you explain exactly what we are seeing and how it is used? It has only been a couple of days, but I love this system so far. I was thinking of using the ToR indicator to determine if a given pair was Trending or Ranging and only use if pair is trending. Your thoughts?
