DislikedYes my friend your right.
It seems that many traders on this forum don't know what are the exact trading hours due to change of daylight savings time.
To clarify these problem, i think everyone should calculate his own time regard to GMT time, not New York or London.
During summer time London is not on GMT but GMT +1
The rest of the Europe during summer time is GMT +2
DST in EUROPE start at 29 of March and ends 25 of October (for 2009)
DST in USA start 08 of March and ends 01 of November (for 2009)
Right now New York is GMT -5, so proper time...Ignored
DislikedGreeting from the London session,
This ORB system is alive and well over here. Another excellent day using this system. I can already call it a day till the N.Y. open takes place. However, I'm kind of kicking myself. I got out way to soon. I didn't let the move fully develop. Has any one on this thread tested a time based exit. It seems that the meat of the move tends to happen in about twenty minutes from the breakout point. Maybe its a good idea to refrain from exiting until a time parameter takes place.Ignored
DislikedAlso euro and aussie have a different set-up that my line up with 0700-0900 ORB. Yesterdays high give or take this recent fake-out.Does this mean keep the system on?Ignored
DislikedCTGUY,
Your system delivered 20 pips for me during the London market, and another 35 pips with the New York market. Breakout/straddle systems have been the only strategies that have consistently made me profits over the past 3 years. This may be the best, yet!
Thank you for sharing!Ignored
DislikedYour not trading the Big Dog System? Rules are that the Big Dog System is traded with the GBP/USD pair. If you use any other pairs, your using your own system my friend.
Keep up the good work..and many pipsIgnored
DislikedDear CTGUY,
First I want to thank you for this thread and your contributions on it. Its quite clear your a pretty sharp trader so its nice to here your take on this method.
I think the main reason that so many people like this method is because its simplicity. The reason they are having success is not so much the system its more so they finally found something they can apply consistently. On that note I don't want to damage this thread and make it more complicated.
However, there are some advanced traders on here that may like to fully implement...Ignored

DislikedWould you like me to stop posting here? Since I'm using an ORB system rather than the Big Dog system?Ignored
DislikedContinue posting but keep in mind that the system was only designed for one pair only. When you state that your trading the system using other pairs, you should know that your trading a system that is other than the Big Dog system.
When you mention your system on here, please mention the name of your system so that you don't confuse the traders that may assume otherwise.
Sorry for the confusion..this was my fault.Ignored
DislikedOkay thanks, I will just call mine the O.R.B. system. So for all readers of this thread I'm using a variation of the big dog but not the actual big dog.
Mark Fischer wrote a book called the Logical Trader. Its basically an ORB method with a few bells and whistles. Its a fun read and he's no amateur trader like most authors he was a big shot on the NYMEX. I think the book is worth reading for readers of this thread. Also you guys may want to read Tony Crabels book.Ignored
Dislikedso the O.R.B system uses 1-3 eastern time for the london session?
and 7-9 eastern time for the ny session?
