DislikedNo.
If the spread is 2 pips, then the price must go through your TP by at least 2 pips in order to exit you in profit. Opposite is true with your stop loss. Price only has to go within 2 pips of your stop loss in order to exit you in a loss.
Just pad your take profit and stop loss points by the spread plus a few pips to play it safe. However, you will still notice that the price always seems to just barely miss your take profits and just barely stop you out.
Is this Murphy's Law or broker manipulation? I think its a factor of both.....Ignored
DislikedI am starting lean towards the broker manipulation side. This is the third time in as many months that I have missed my tp by one and just hit my sp.
Time to look for a new broker.Ignored
DislikedI know this thread is old, but figured I'd give my 2 noob cents.
I used IBFX for a couple months. I believe them to be a \"bucketshop\" and I seemed to always get my stops hunted.
I would always put stops below/above fibo and make sure to give \"breathing room\" so not to get stopped out too early.
Over and over and over again I'd see my stops getting hit within 2-3 pips and then the thing going the other way.
This was just too big of a coincidence to me so I read up about bucketshops and the like, and believe I was screwed repeatedly.
I don't have proof, of course, but I lost count on the number of times I got stopped out within just a couple pips before the trend reversing....it just got ridiculous.Ignored
DislikedTime to study how fixed spreads work.
When you buy, you buy at the ask and when you sell, you sell at he bid.
If you think where bid and ask were at the moments the tp was missed and the sp was hit, you'll find that was normal.Ignored
DislikedI am going to close my acct with Interbank Fx....their spreads are absolutely HUGE>>>>>>take your business elsewhere.....when you call their toll free number it often says there are technical difficulties....they don't want to talk.....what a sorry excuse for a broker....Ignored
