For the AUD chart above, my exit from the previous short was closed at .9125 and the re-entry occurred at .9075. I had a previous GBP close at 1.9632 and then re-open on a continuation of the SHORT at 1.9975 during an up spike to where we're sitting right now at 1.8961; so a little over 1,000 pips and holding.
The point being, the trades are always in the direction of the TE. The RAVI is just a tool to aid your decision to open or close a position. When the RAVI spikes up and the TE is SHORT, I wait till the RAVI re-crosses the median and then consider going SHORT again if I don't see any evidence of other like currencies going against my trade. It also helps a little to know some patterns indicating continuations and reversals. It won't fool proof the system, but it does help out.
