Now if you are in a period of drawdowns the logical thing to do is reduce your lots and visa versa if this is working effectively for you. In the event of drawdown in any trading strategy the logical thing to do is to reevaluate things when something isn't working well. To keep beating a dead horse (so to speak) will get you no were.
You are also absolutely correct that the market doesn't care if your last 20 trades were winners, but if they were using this method you would be up considerably. Besides I don't look at it as each trade has the same probability of losing. I look at it as each trade has the same probability of winning.
