DislikedWell an EA automatically places trades. This is an indicator, i figured that is what you wanted. It goes in the indicator folder of the experts folder like all other indicators. No prob, happy to help.Ignored
DislikedHere you go. I think this is what the book says (Page 38) for the pivot Range
If you do not want the actual pivot line (Green) to show, just select NONE for the color.Ignored
Dislikedthere is allready a indicator here for it.
http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...10&postcount=4
But the it is given completaly diferent results. Your indicator is using what time hour?Ignored
DislikedI actyally closed this trade shortly after putting it on for a +10 pip profit and as it turned out was the right thing to do as I had put my stop loss too tight.
Ive just gone short on A down at price 209.03 - stop at 209.48 nice and tight stop for a change so I decided to go short gbp/usd also at 1.9628 stop at 1.9660Ignored
DislikedNone, you are misinformed what this indicator is. It is a pivot range indicator, not a ACD indicator. as per page 38
Please read Chapter 2 The Pivot Concept. Then you will understand what this is.
The ACD2 indicator you listed in the link does not use the daily high,low,close/3 it uses a start and stop time. this is not correct. Please read the formula on page 38 to make it clear. Mine is correct in the math. if you look at the code, it is clear that the ACD2 and the ACD3 pivot indicators in the link lose 2 hours of data every day. From 21:00 to 00:00. This time range is not counted by the indicator. In the book it is required that the entire day is computed for the high and the low and the close and the median.
If you would like to use the ACD2 or the ACD3 listed in the link. According to the code, if you place 00:00 as the start time and 23:59 as the end time, that should work correctly. But not 21:00 to 21:00 as it is coded in the external inputs. I suspect the programmer did this because he wanted a pivot time that was other than his internal broker time.Ignored
Dislikedi understand that both indicator are for Dayli Pivot Range. But even using 0:00 to 23:59 the results are different.
but ok, i will use your indicator and abandon the other. Whant broker/MT4 do you use? see the big differences using Interbak and North Finance:
many thanksIgnored
DislikedHi Giraia,
Scotts indicator is perfect as I've done the math to test it. I have an excell sheet which calculates the pivot range for me which I sometimes use but I just don't know how to code an indicator. His indicator matches my excell sheet to the decimal.
By the way Im a big pink floyd fan myself and love that album wish you were here.
Later dude...Ignored
Dislikedbut whit wich broker you are using his indicator? please, could you post the excel file? i need to admite that i did not read the thread. I am reading the book one more time because i am bad with math/logic. Then i will read the entire thread.
about Pink Floyd, only the best people like Pink Floyd as i said before in a MuddBuddha thread. I think is because of it he vouched for me for 1k lol (btw. i really don't deserve it as i even can't trade profitable).
thanks for the answer and for the thread donagh. and sorry for my bad english.Ignored

Do you use the 2:30 opening, in other words, the 1:59:59 closing to calculate the P-range... Or simply the midnight ?Ignored
