If you buy gbp/usd and sell eur/usd, is that the same as being short eur/gbp? 1 reply
DislikedHere is what I have come up with - it basically uses MACD (12,26,6) as another trend indicator. I have been playing with all sorts of settings for it (hence it taking so long getting it up here) - if you manage to get it working better, let us know!!!

DislikedI forgot to mention to everyone creating systems. Never create a system that executed "at bar close." Because that's not real world. You always want to execute at "next bar's open", because you can get some slightly off results. It's not substantial, but when you start talking about slippage and whatnot, it can be.
Unfortunately, FT doesn't do a good job of allowing you to add slippage. Tradestation, on the other hand, does do a good job as I recall...
Regardless, hope that helps.Ignored
DislikedHello Mudd,
I am trying to match up the results to what you are seeing.
What are your trading times set to in the gbpjpy edit symbol - trading time set to?
ThanksIgnored
DislikedIt would be be great and will save us a lot of screen watch if we could arrive at a compromise and a solutution for a profitable set up using 4 hr time frame for this methodIgnored
DislikedStarting 16:00 Sunday through 17:00 Friday. Also, take the GBP/JPY to .001Ignored
DislikedI'm actually trading it with EOD off at the moment. While the win percentage was higher, the NON-EOD setting did enable it to bank more pips per trade which offsets the lower win percentage a majority of the time.
It becomes a risk when you're in the big trades when they hit, but allowing your equity to get chewed little by little on the small losses. You have to find a balance where the scales are tipped slightly in your favor all the time.Ignored
