Quoting Lou GDislikedI coded an EA for SRDC 2 this evening and, while it's profitable in a short backtest, the results contain a few things I'm having trouble understanding. Although I have more than 40 years programming experience (when I started, computers were made of wood ), I have only been coding in MQL4 for a couple of months and there's a lot I don't understand.
If any of you are experienced MT4 programmers and would be willing to answer some intelligent questions, please PM me - I'll really appreciate it.
Best,
LouIgnored
Quoting compro99Dislikedi wonder if there is way to make sound/pop up/email alert on price touching top/median/bottom of channel ?Ignored
Quoting 4rexDislikedMaster Roshan,
Please clarify for eager jedi trainee why the channel on this particular pair on a daily seems to be going down while price is heading up? Am I missing something in my perception?
Thank YouIgnored
Quoting llambert3DislikedRoshan can answer, but would it really matter? It is staying in the channel (until now). The channel could change to be upwards or the eur/usd will go back towards the median of the downward channel. BUT maybe I missed something in my studying.Ignored
Quoting 4rexDislikedHello Llambert,
No, I appreciate your feedback. I understand that it will adjust eventually as it penetrates and remains outside the channel. One question is: How far back is the daily channel representing? If you look at the weekly it seems to be ranging since the end of April (aprox.) with the 4hr, in a uptrend since October and the hourly, since Nov. 24th. I guess I am not understanding why is contradicting price action that goes back to mid October(approx).Ignored
Quoting Lou GDislikedThe SHI_Channel regardless of timeframe does not go back a fixed number of bars (though it will go back a maximum of 240 unless you have changed the AllBars parameter). I posted an explanation of how the indicator does what it does a few pages back so you might want to look at that post. As to why, just look at a daily candle - the range from high to low can very easily contain shorter trends in both directions on shorter timeframes.Ignored

Quoting bossxeroDislikedJust warped from Episode I to Episode II. Mind blowing trip with Jedi Master Roshan as our guide. May you be blesssed and let the powers expand in you. I have come a long way to this galaxy (on my carpet) and i am thinking to stay with the Jedi legion.
Please accept me master...Ignored
Quoting traderlismissDislikedThere is something I don't quite understand. I am using the 1hr SHI-Channel and I am going short once the price hits the top trend line. Then after one hour the channel changes and my original trade does not touch the line anymore. First, does that matter? How do I know which ones to get into and which ones to leave?
Thanks,Ignored
Quoting 4rexDislikedHello members of the Orange Galaxy,
As I did for SRDC I, I have taken the liberty to consolidate some of our Master Jedi's main points as a review/refresher of SRDC II Part I. Master Jedi Roshan please let me know if this is ok with you and the council. I would remedy any intrusion of my part since I am only a simple Jedi in training.
Hope this help my fellow warriorsIgnored
