PS. if you cant sleep with a position on your size is too big. Its easy to get Greedy. i know -- i was that guy. But losing so much i knew i had to change something
That is true and logical, but why can we never see it ourselves, it always seems to take someone else to point it out, even the simplest of things sometimes to wake you up and change your thinking and trading. Mr T is that guy for me, a few things you've said over the last pages have resonated with me and are sinking in, for this i am very grateful mate.[/quote]
Thanks Chips.
Let me tell you this tho --- i can show you how itrade, what i trade and why im long or short the pair. But that doesnt mean you will be able to replicate it. Hopefully you can and even do better and then i will be asking you to show me how to trade. Getting to a point of profitability takes a helluva long time, a long long time. Emotions, Discipline all come into it and were all wired differently. I think its how i handle losses that have kept me in the game. IM A GOOD LOSER and accept losses now. In the past i was a bad loser and would add to losers thinking i was better than the market. Losses and time in the market is the best teacher
About 25yrs ago i was hitting something like 65% hit rate. Now most would be thinking WOW, fucking brilliant. Well it wasnt, the other 35% losses was just keeping me over break even. so something had to change so i took time off to figure it out again. If youve been trading a short time then you have a lot of time to spend learning -- this is not a get rich quick game, i wish it was. But if your prepared to work your ass off its achievable .
I still spend weekend analysing every pair just to see if i have an edge next week. i mark up all my charts or 20+ currency pairs and thats the amount of time, work and patience you need. Like i said this aint easy
