DislikedGuys, is there an easy way to find out which template is being applied to the chat? I have soo many that I am keep forgettingIgnored
DislikedHi Syed,
My understanding is that the templates are used only once, when we apply it. The chart settings, indicators and their settings are applied and the template is never used again, unless we apply it again. The templates are only for our convenience and the program does not use it by itself.
The program saves current chart settings in Profiles (not in templates; only manual savings go to template; but, we can save the profiles also). We can never know whether the chart settings came from manual attachments or templates.
In addition, the differences are:
1. templates are for single chart and profiles is for the whole list of charts (if there are 10 charts in one MT4, all their settings will be saved in one Profile).
2. If we use a Profile, MT4 will use it each time we start and save changes to it when exiting. (templates are used only when we apply it and the settings are applied to only one chart; the program never saves anything in templates, unless we ask to).
This is my understanding. I could be wrong.
But, I save profiles and even backup them! When I mess up a profile badly, I can get all back with saved Profile (I have done it). So, I am correct about that.

DislikedBy clicking on the right mouse clicker, then indicators list, you can see what indicators are being used. Often this lets me figure out which template I'm using... and, edit or close an indicator within that template if I don't want every indicator running at that time. I also name my templates in such a way that its easier to keep track of them, based on how much I use them, and clean house sometimes by deleting ones I never intend to use
