Its been interesting 3 month experience with daily baskets. The belief that basket can be traded daily was given to me by Mrdfx hard work (post #19204). Since 1st of September I went live with real account running modified settings and also in parallel run account on demo fully unattended with #19204 settings.
10 week findings so far on live account:
On live account I intervened manually, chose days to trade/not to trade, excluded pairs and ran different starting times around London Open. There has been amazing weeks where there is only 1 stoploss event in 6-8 strings of quick profit taking. Account was up by 25% within 2 weeks. AND 15% lost in series of stoplosses by the end of Sep. Net gain by end of Sep 9% (not bad).
Since then its been very difficult to find traction and consistency. Most part of October was spent eliminating weak baskets e.g. 2-3 pairs at start and trying to pick good days for trading. A lot of early manual closures at BE, or with small losses. Net cumulative account gain at the end of Oct 2.5% only.
2 weeks of November - string of 4 profit takings, account up by 12%. Then out of the blue 2 SL on seemingly healthy baskets and cumulative return as of Between 1.Sep-13.Nov is 6% profit. Its still profit, right? But is it consistent enough to keep going? At the same time basket running fully unattended with settings from post #19204 is down by -26%.
At the moment confidence is slightly lost. While CMSM 17 gives reliable predictions on the day - the basket can be hurt easily with "noise" or fluctuations around the projected average price trajectory. A lot of times the baskets have been killed by short retraces and then it hurts to watch as it continues in right direction after the SL has been hit.
I will continue to experiment with:
- Slightly different opening times
- Different basket trigger values. It would be really good to incorporate some short-term RSI indicator for Virtual Basket, helping to trigger the basket at the right place instead of only pipvalues.
- Perhaps slightly lower risk level & smaller basket for more resilience to fluctuations

Enjoy the weekend
