OP, you are absolutely right in the most literal sense.
The members who are bashing you, they are doing so because you make it sound so easy. "What a stupid thread, it can't be that easy". You are forgetting that you are posting in ForexFactory. Most people here want to make something simple, into something difficult. You are talking to a handful of people who are engineers, mathematicians, etc. the types of people who look at the concept of trading and think price action holds some secret algorithm behind it that you have to "crack" to be able to profit. You do not have to be a genius in order to trade, but you need to have rationality and logic. You can be a mathematical whiz, or top of the class engineer, but that doesn't indicate you understand how business works.
You can do research on any professional trader. Watch documentaries with real traders and hedge fund managers, and they will tell you more or less the same thing. Everything you need to know in order to profit is right there at your disposal. Just pull up the charts and study it. You need to approach trading with a methodology that actually makes sense. If it makes sense to you, it'll make sense to the other millions of traders on the globe. Times have changed a lot within the past decade, we live in an era where news trading CAN be profitable, but who listens to the news anymore when the charts provide all the information you need in real time?
PS - I do not want to hear, "brokers will manipulate the price and charts! News trading is in REAL time! The charts are lagging!" blah blah blah, I'm gonna let you know right now that you don't know what you're talking about. Not a single clue. I see the same things being reiterated by misinformed, ignorant "traders" all the time who hear something false from another misinformed individual, then instantly shares it and spread it around. "Bad" information keeps getting recycled.
If the phrase, "buy low, sell high" doesn't automatically make sense to you when you look at a chart, maybe you should dedicate a few more months/years staring at charts... then eventually, it'll click.
Good luck everyone.
