DislikedQuestion - Is it safe to enter positions at any point past +/-0.25?
The scenario I'm talking about - say the market is at +/-0.60% and you missed earlier positon - is it safe to go long/short at that point or any point for that matter past +/-0.25?
Thanks

DislikedAgreed, unless we have a miracle. I am thinking that in the future I may wait for consolidation paterns around levels rather than just entering mkt when level is touched. So may watch several charts H1, M15, M5, perhaps, to detect when move is slowing and about to turn. In this way we may not enter 1st pos. untill +-3SDs in my approach or perhaps +-.50% in classic approach. May increase pos. size as point of entry corresponds to greater extent of divergence. Voire, if slowing/consolidation not seen untill +-.50% enter 2 positions, 1 for level .25% and 1 level for.50% etc.Ignored
DislikedIn fact, Spieler watches market speed and waits at times to enter beyond .25% ,for example, if market is moving too strongly in his experienced judgement.Ignored

It will depend . you can scale out half at +0.25% for exemple and get out remaining higher
But if pace goes fast like the dip we get 2 hours ago you can keep it a little bit higher.
So far we are stucked around 1.61 and will certainly be investors for the week endIgnored

Could you please explain a little more on how to use your 'Close' script. Could it be set to close a EUR/USD-USDCHF hedge position when the price of EUR/CHF reaches a certain level?Ignored
DislikedSure, the close script is actually unmodified from the one I use for closing trades for other strategies. You have to add an input, which is called TradeChar. It will then look over al your open trades and find all he trades that have that exact comment (Case sensitive)
For example if you use 'Up' Right now, with a $100000 account it'll create two trades EURUSD and UDFCHF at 1 and 1.5 lots. They will have a comment of 'A'. In a few days when we're back up at say -0.25 you decide to exit the two trades labelled with A. You drag 'Close' in to the window and Set the TradeChar to A. Close will then search for all trades with a comment of A and close them.
Remember I wrote this to close trades -quickly-. I wrote it about 2 months ago back when oil was in the high fourties and the individual contracts moved so quickly that I could lose my profit in 5 seconds if the closue of the second leg took to long. If the broker requotes you the script just keeps hammering the closure until it does what you want... Like I said not elligent, but effective.Ignored
