Quoting cgldsmthDislikedWackena - how about including the hedging features of 1.0b into 1.0c. You could call it...errmmmmm....1.0d.Ignored

Quoting wackenaDislikedIn backtesting different pairs with v1.0b & v1.0c, I'm a bit concerned over the number of open orders at one time. For those of you that will be forward testing, please also report these numbers along with bottom line resutls.
Thanks,

Quoting dcraigDislikedHi everyone,
I've been backtesting the Firebird versions a, b, and c, and definitely like versions a and c best. Vesrsion c seems to have a built in function to set the stoploss and trailing stoploss, however when I set them, they don't seem to work (yes, it's in the "Value" section of the expert advisor Input section). Even if I set the trailing stoploss to 50 (and even same with the plain stoploss), I still seem to have times when there is a much greater loss (say, 200 pip loss over many bars). I can't for the life of me understand what I'm doing wrong here. Is this a bug?
I apologise in advance if the answer is obvious, but I'm about ready to pull my hair out on this
Thanks for your input.

Quoting dcraigDislikedPlease find attached the files I referred to in the above post. If this attempt does not work, I'm calling it a day
Thanks for your assistance.

Quoting dcraigDislikedI hope these go through. The first is a file showing the backtest results, and the second file is a jpeg showing my settings for the EA. I appreciate any help you can offer.
It would seem that there is a 200 pip stoploss looking at the results, yet I very specifically entered a 25 pip stop.
Thanks again.
Doug

Quoting monoDislikedHi Guys
OK, before you say it, i'll say it. I MUST BE NUTS.
I have a task for for the people who have been testing firebird long term or those that have had a stoploss.
Go through your statement and only look at your losing trades and check out the charts, to see if at the time of stoploss, how much further did the price move.
Best way to explain is an example.
Below is one of my losing trades.
<table x:str="" style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 512pt;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="679"><col style="width: 42pt;" width="56"> <col style="width: 81pt;" width="108"> <col style="width: 26pt;" width="35"> <col style="width: 24pt;" width="32"> <col style="width: 37pt;" width="49"> <col style="width: 35pt;" span="3" width="46"> <col style="width: 81pt;" width="108"> <col style="width: 35pt;" width="46"> <col style="width: 38pt;" width="50"> <col style="width: 43pt;" width="57"> <tbody><tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td class="xl26" style="height: 12.75pt; width: 42pt;" height="17" width="56">Ticket</td> <td class="xl27" style="width: 81pt;" width="108">Open Time</td> <td class="xl26" style="width: 26pt;" width="35">Type</td> <td class="xl26" style="width: 24pt;" width="32">Lots</td> <td class="xl26" style="width: 37pt;" width="49">Item</td> <td class="xl28" style="width: 35pt;" width="46">Price</td> <td class="xl28" style="width: 35pt;" width="46">S / L</td> <td class="xl28" style="width: 35pt;" width="46">T / P</td> <td class="xl27" style="width: 81pt;" width="108">Close Time</td> <td class="xl28" style="width: 35pt;" width="46">Price</td> <td class="xl30" style="width: 38pt;" width="50">Swap</td> <td class="xl30" style="width: 43pt;" width="57">Profit</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td class="xl24" style="height: 12.75pt; width: 42pt;" x:num="" height="17" width="56">1787896</td> <td class="xl25">2006.07.31 06:30</td> <td class="xl24" style="width: 26pt;" width="35">sell</td> <td class="xl24" style="width: 24pt;" x:num="" width="32">0.1</td> <td class="xl24" style="width: 37pt;" width="49">gbpusd</td> <td class="xl29" style="width: 35pt;" x:num="1.865" width="46">1.8650</td> <td class="xl29" style="width: 35pt;" x:num="1.895" width="46">1.8950</td> <td class="xl29" style="width: 35pt;" x:num="1.8620000000000001" width="46">1.8620</td> <td class="xl25">2006.08.04 15:29</td> <td class="xl29" style="width: 35pt;" x:num="1.895" width="46">1.8950</td> <td class="xl31" style="width: 38pt;" x:num="3.16" width="50">$3.16</td> <td class="xl31" style="width: 43pt;" x:num="-300" width="57">-$300.00</td></tr></tbody></table>
If at SL, I had put in a buy trade for 3 full mini lots but target is 10 pips, would you recover your losses every time?
Maybe have a trailing stop put on it.
What are your thoughts?
